1. Privacy Summary
- We do not require accounts, login, or payment information.
- We do not access the microphone or record speech.
- We do not operate our own analytics, cloud sync, or user profile servers for ParrotTalk.
- Small preferences (tutorial, language, daily ad reward state) stay in local storage on your device.
- The app requests Internet access so Google AdMob can show ads and present consent forms where required.
- Advertising-related data may be processed by Google under Google’s policies when ads or consent flows run.
2. Children & Caregivers
ParrotTalk is intended for young children, primarily those under 7 years old, used with a parent, guardian, or caregiver (“Caregiver”).
Caregivers should review this Privacy Policy and supervise use of the app, including any advertising consent choices presented by Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) and any notification permission granted on the device.
3. What We Do Not Collect
Through ParrotTalk itself, Sunrise does not collect or store on our servers:
- Names, email addresses, or account credentials
- Payment or billing information
- Microphone audio or photos
- Precise location
- Contacts, messages, or files from your device
- Custom first-party analytics dashboards or cloud user profiles
Listening content is pre-recorded and bundled with the app. Children do not create accounts or submit personal content to us.
4. Data Stored on Your Device
ParrotTalk stores a small amount of information locally on your device so the app can remember preferences and session state. This data is not uploaded to Sunrise servers.
- Tutorial completion — whether the first-launch tutorial was completed or skipped
- Tap hint state — whether the first-time tap hint flow has been acknowledged
- Language preferences — UI language choices stored on the device
- Daily rewarded-ad completion — a local calendar-day flag so the daily rewarded ad gate does not repeat on the same day
- Session playback memory — recently played audio clips during the current session (cleared when the app is closed)
- Scheduled notification times — managed by the device’s local notification system when reminders are enabled
Android may back up app data if you have device backup enabled. Backup behavior is controlled by your device and Google account settings, not by ParrotTalk servers.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
ParrotTalk uses Google AdMob to show advertisements, including:
- A rewarded video that may appear once per local calendar day on cold start
- A banner ad near the bottom of the screen during normal use
Where required, the app presents Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form so Caregivers can make advertising and privacy choices before ads are requested.
To support advertising, the Android app may use the device’s advertising identifier
(AD_ID) and related signals processed by Google’s advertising services.
Sunrise does not operate a separate ad-tracking database for ParrotTalk users.
How Google processes advertising and consent data is governed by Google’s own policies, including the Google Privacy Policy and AdMob / Google advertising disclosures.
6. Internet Access
The Android app declares the INTERNET permission so AdMob and UMP can load ads and consent forms.
Core Speak / Idle media (bundled videos and WAV clips) remain available without our own cloud content servers.
If the device is offline, ad loading may fail; listening and tap interaction can still work depending on whether the daily rewarded gate has already been completed or skipped through available app paths.
7. Local Notifications
ParrotTalk may offer local learning reminders scheduled on your device. These are not push notifications from Sunrise servers; they are created and stored locally by the app.
- Reminders may be scheduled approximately every 6 hours while the feature is active
- Notifications are suppressed during quiet hours (10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, device local time)
- On first launch, the app may request notification permission through your device’s system dialog
- You can disable notifications at any time in your device’s system settings
Granting notification permission is optional for core listening features.
8. Third Parties
ParrotTalk may involve the following third parties:
- Google Play — app distribution, updates, and related store services. Google may process limited technical data according to Google’s policies.
- Google AdMob / Google advertising services — ads, consent (UMP), and advertising identifiers as described above.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share child profile data with third parties because we do not create child profiles on Sunrise servers.
9. Retention & Deletion
Local preferences remain on the device until you clear the app’s storage or uninstall ParrotTalk. Uninstalling the app removes app-local data stored by ParrotTalk on that device (subject to any separate device backup copies you keep).
Advertising data retained by Google is subject to Google’s retention practices, not Sunrise servers.
10. Your Choices
- Respond to the UMP consent form when it is shown, or manage ad-related settings through your device / Google account tools where available
- Deny or revoke notification permission in Android system settings
- Clear app storage or uninstall ParrotTalk to remove local preferences
- Limit advertising ID use in Android privacy / ads settings where your device provides that control
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be noted in the Google Play Store listing or within a future app update.
